The museum of popular arts and traditions is housed in the Palais du Roure and is a centre for Mediterranean culture, ethnology, provencal and archaeological studies. It shows in particular Provence and Provencal history, traditions, language and literature. It also provides unexpected information, documents and objects that once belonged to John Stuart Mill for example, who died in Avignon in 1873.
