The museum (historisches museum) explores the history of the city of Frankfurt and presents five permanent exhibitions. The Staufer Age, life and trade on the Main since early modern times, the holdings of twelve collectors of the seventeenth to twentieth centuries and the famous old town model created by the Treuner brothers in the years 1925–1961.
