The National Galeries

The major cultural events programmed in the National Galeries (Galeries Nationales du Grand Palais) are based on a broad and generous vision of art history. Exhibits include monographs of artists, major artistic movements, fine art retrospectives, thematic exhibitions, an open approach to the 20th century, and to all forms of sculpture and creative uses of materials, and all civilisations. For the last 40 years, the Galeries nationales have been the historic venue for major exhibitions. Nearly 50 major shows have been staged in an area of nearly 57,000 square feet in collaboration with leading French and foreign museums.
