Museum of the Post

The Museum of the Post (L’Adresse La Poste museum) is a charming and special place, full of surprises. It takes you on a journey through time to retrace the history of sending and receiving messages. The story begins with the ancient clay tablet and gallops across the centuries via the horse-drawn mail coach to the very first airmail services. Along the way, you’ll be fascinated by the stories of the postmen and women who delivered the mail, sometimes against all odds ! It’s a museum for young and old alike, and reveals much about France itself. The museum presents permanent collections, and organises temporary exhibitions. The Museum notably houses a rare collection of collectors’s items: – ancient letterboxes, mail driver and postman’s uniforms, mail coach models, collector’s postage stamps and artistic works.
