Ettal Monastery

The Benedictine monastery complex is the result of a centuries old historical development and demonstrates one of the main concerns of a Benedictine Abbey. The monastery was built by the Duke of Bavaria and Holy Roman Emperor Louis IVth in 1330. The castle-like complex and many buildings have been developed in the course of centuries. The monastery is open to the public and organizes exhibition as well.
