Celtic-Roman Museum

The Celtic-Roman museum (Kelten Römer museum)Over 2000 years ago, one of the most important Celtic cities in Europe was in Manching. The museum presents findings from over 100 years of archaeological excavations of the Celtic city on the Danube. The collections includes many artefacts and tools, that were used in daily life, treasures from the Mediterranean region, documenting the trade contacts of the Celts. In early Roman times, a military camp was built in the Manching area. Numerous objects tell of the story of the life of the soldiers on the border of the Roman Empire. There are also two unique, almost completely preserved military ships from the time of Emperor Trajan (98-117).
