The Cathedral’s Diocesan museum was built between 1968-75. The museum is home to an extensive collection of sacred art dating from the tenth to the twentieth centuries and features some of the most important German artworks in addition to pieces of international standing. The collection contains some 8000 exhibits. The museum regulalrly organzizes special exhibitions about themes related to themes, history and religious developments in the Middle Ages.
