The Russian colony was laid out in 1826 – 1827 by the Prussian King in commemoration of Czar Alexander I, who ha died in 1826. It consists of twelve small farmsteads and a overseer’s house with a hippodrome-shaped design plan, as well as a the Alexander-Newski-Chapel and the house of the chapel conservator.
