Medieval Crime and Justice Museum

The museum (Mittelalterliches Kriminalmuseum ) is located in the former St. John’s Commandery in Rothenburg. The collection dates back to a small private collection belonging to the publisher and archivist Karl Albrecht at the end of the 19th/beginning of the 20th centuries. In the meantime, the museum comprises a collection from over 1,000 years of German and European legal history and is one of the most important and popular law and crime museums in Germany and Europe.
