Langen Foundation

The collection of the Langen Stiftung encompasses European and American art of the twentieth century, (École de Paris artists, including Jean René Bazaine, Alfred Manessier, Gustave Singier and Nicolas de Staël), an extensive collection of Jean Dubuffet, the Zero movement (Heinz Mack, Otto Piene, and Günther Uecker), Lucio Fontana, Yves Klein, Sam Francis, Roy Lichtenstein, Louise Nevelson, Kenneth Noland, Robert Rauschenberg, and Andy Warhol, and classical modernism by Paul Cézanne, Robert Delaunay, Paul Klee, László Moholy-Nagy, Piet Mondrian, Pablo Picasso, Kurt Schwitters, the Blaue Reiter artists, such as Wassily Kandinsky and Franz Marc, and the Russian avant-garde. The Japan Collection is one of a kind in Europe. The collection includes some ancient Greek art and works from non-European cultures, Buddhist sculptures and smaller groups of Chinese, Korean, African, Oceanic, Egyptian, and Ancient Persian art.
