Landesmuseum Lippe

The Landesmuseum Lippe is the largest and oldest museum in the region East Westphalia-Lippe Detmold and is located in a splendid Renaissance palace. Founded in 1835 as Natural History Museum, it has developed today into a great collection in the fields of natural history, prehistory and early history, history, folklore, art, furniture and interior design and a broad range of ancient and contemporary art. Sculpture, painting and applied art awaits the visitor. An introduction to the archeology offers here reflect the broad working and dating methods of archeology, which is supported by more scientific methods. The collection of natural history consists of numerous extinct species.
