Clemens Sels Museum

The museum encompasses a broad spectrum of the history of art and culture. Paintings from the Middle Ages, 17th century Dutch painters, works by Nazarenes, Pre-Raphaelites and Symbolists and Rhineland Expressionists are presented,. Contemporary art is another focus of the collection. Other sections give insight in the pre- and early modern history, the historical and economic development of the city of Neuss and the rise of regional bourgeois culture. The archaeological department has finds from the Roman military camp in Neuss that was built in 16 BC. The collections are housed in two connecting buildings, the Obertor and the Deilmann Building.
