Intimism exhibited

Intimism is a variety of impressionism. It made an intense exploration of the domestic interior as subject matter. it captured the light and atmosphere and exaggerated and distorted natural colour to express mood. The museum exhibits the French ‘Intimist’ Henri Le Sidaner (1862-1939). He also painted landscapes, city views, gardens and still lives and painted many French villages and cities, such as St. Tropez, Nemours, Lisieux, Pont-Aven, Montreuil-Bellay, Buicourt, Honfleur, Bormes, Villefranche-sur-mer, Gerberoy, Paris and Versailles. The exhibition als shows unique pictures of a meeting between William Singer and Henri Le Sidaner in Gerberoy.”
