The Opening of the new Museum Leuven, or M for short, took place on September 20, 2009. One of the temporary exhibitions deals with one of the greatest Flemish primitives, Rogier van der Weyden (1400-1464). Together with Jan van Eyck, he is one of the most important south Netherlandish painters of the fifteenth century. It is a unique chance to discover the artist and his time. Original works by the artist will be confronted with paintings by contemporaries and epigones. The famous Sacraments Altar is on display for the first time since its restoration. More than 100 works or art are on display, put into the political, cultural and historical perspective of the time.
